About the Owner and Trainer
Mark Lukas.
In the late 1990’s, Zak Lukas and his father Mark, discovered their first Soccer Collie. Zak was a fabulous athlete and a very talented soccer player; not to mention a friend to everyone. Tragically, he died in the Gulf of Mexico when he was only 16.
After Zak died, Ms. Z, a Border Collie, came into Mark’s life and they became instant best friends. Ms. Z’s happy-go-lucky, feisty, care-free attitude reminded Mark of Zak’s friendly personality.
With training, and a little patience, Ms. Z soon learned how to play soccer.
Even though they play a slightly different game of soccer, it’s always impressive when they push the ball past you and challenge your soccer skills… fascinating onlookers, and amazing the participants.
“Ms. Z. and I became instant best friends and she has taught me so much about living and giving. I now coach her in soccer, and she trains me. Life brings tragedy and difficulties to us, and through it all, God has a way of showing us good always comes out of bad. Soccer Collies is a tremendous blessing to me and to everyone they meet."
